Capitalization 4

"I write to you now, from an outpost of greed;

writing, itself, is an outpost.

I was exiled here, by my people

who have taken everything, my people

from one another; from your people.

Wandering, I am like an outpost

of my people."

Adult love shouldn't be about remembering what it was like to be loved as a child, but imagining what it took for a parent to love us.

What if love, while theoretically open to all, in fact turned out to be an elitist guild, a rare secular version of 'election'?

What if, instead of romantic love, we supported the love of solidarity: an injury to one is an injury to all?

Capitalization 2

We are finally fighting back against capitalization.

Maybe we are saying: hey, jerkbutt!

I won't take this abusive relationship anymore.

Capitalization

When we talk about capitalism, as an enemy,

we are talking about capitalization;

the practice of privatizing what could otherwise be held on to in common.

Capitalization is the opposite of love.

But it is the essence—and relies on the cultural production—of romantic love.

Desire is what is common between romantic and true love.

Desire will help us transition from this world to the new ones that exist within it.

How do we cultivate a desire that is common?

Love 2

Romantic love is a bubble.

But real love—a solidarity that can only be revealed by time—is held in common.

We hold it, for a time, in common.

Love

It was not true that I was not loving;

that anything we were experiencing was not loving.

I tried accumulating fans
as a measure of safety;

I found others as scared
& entrepreneurial as I.

Jersey Shore is capitalization; romantic; an investment

in nothing.

Ronnie and Sammi's relationship is coming to an end;

Mubarak

The teams represented working class history. But they played in a corporate, ruling class present.

I loved the present.

I cheered & cheered

Today I drove my friends to the airport. I got a tank of gas. I read about steel workers getting laid off in the 80's, about jobs being outsourced, unions being busted, profits soaring, rich people getting richer. The Steelers were playing The Packers in The Super Bowl on Sunday. I had heard that the Packers were the only team in the NFL to be owned cooperatively, by their fans.

February 2nd, 2011 (8:19 PM Central Time)

Protesters are now being hit by molotov cocktails. Today I made Dal with some yellow lentils. I ate two and a half butter pecan cookies my friend made me. One thing i did see with my own eyes was machine gun fire from around the corner.

What we're hearing now is the anti-government protesters chanting leave, leave.

Are there still women and children in the square.

I can't actually confirm that.

Why don't you leave you are at risk of being shot right now!

We cannot go back at this point

I missed the first day. I wasn't sure what I was doing.
